ZAMBEZE DELTA SAFARIS

TSituated in the south-eastern part of Africa, Mozambique is a country rich in natural beauty and diverse wildlife. Within this captivating landscape lies Coutada 11, an official safari concession spanning an impressive 2000 square kilometres. This vast area boasts some of the most varied habitats and abundant animal species found in Africa, making it a true haven for classical African safaris.

Part of the Marromeu Complex, Coutada 11 is strategically positioned along the northern border of the mighty Zambezi River. Nestled in the central region of coastal Mozambique, this concession offers a remarkable spectrum of wildlife, encompassing 21 hunting species ranging from the diminutive Livingstone Suni to the majestic Buffalo, including four of the renowned Big Five.

Buffalo herds graze upon the open flood plains and swamps, numbering several hundred strong. In fact, recent estimates in the Marromeu complex suggest that the Buffalo population reaches an impressive 20,000. The presence of large herds of Sable, often nearing 150 individuals, further adds to the awe-inspiring wildlife encounters.

What sets Coutada 11 apart is its distinct blend of five habitat types: the Miombo Woodland, sand forests, tropical savannah, swamps, and floodplains. This exceptional diversity creates a truly unique environment that supports a thriving array of wildlife.

As the longest-standing concessionaire in Mozambique, we have held the lease on Coutada 11 since 1992. Throughout the years, our commitment to sound game management practices and anti-poaching programs has elevated this area to one of the premier free-roaming game lands in Africa. Today, Coutada 11 has reached its carrying capacity for most species, a testament to the successful conservation efforts undertaken.

For those embarking on this extraordinary hunting adventure, the journey begins at Beira International Airport. A short charter flight transports you to one of the most pristine hunting concessions in Africa, where untouched wilderness and thrilling encounters await.

Join Zambeze Delta Safaris at Coutada 11 for an unforgettable safari experience, where the magnificence of Mozambique's wildlife and the untamed beauty of its landscapes converge to create memories that will last a lifetime.
