What to Bring

In the tropical 'Top End' of Australia, lightweight summer clothing is worn all year round.
Expect very hot conditions when hunting during the later months of the year. Light protective clothing is recommended.  Drink plenty of water to prevent dehydration.  You will need:


.   sturdy footwear
.   hat
.   long sleeved shirts
.   sunglasses -  a necessity,
.   sunscreen and insect repellent -  mandatory
.   camera/video to record your unforgettable ‘Top End’ hunting experience.
.   Dry Season (May to November) - clothing for the cooler nights may be required
.   Wet Season (December to April) - rain coat will be required


Distances:
Darwin city to Point Stuart Wilderness Lodge 180km (approximately 2 hour's drive


Roads:
To reach point Stuart Wilderness Lodge requires driving on 7km of unsealed road. The surrounding area is also derived of (maintained) unsealed roads.  Be aware of wildlife, particularly at dawn and dusk.  Wallabies are active during these times.  Buffalo and cattle can be a hazard.  

            
Average Temperatures:
Wet: 25-34C   Dry: 22-31C
The later months of the year October, November, December are very hot and humid before the arrival of the wet season rains.

Power Supply:

Point Stuart Wilderness Lodge runs on self generated power, which is in operation 24 hours a day. To avoid over load to our power system, portable fridge/freezers are not permitted (applies to accommodated guests). All rooms are equipped with a small fridge. There are also freezers available for guest use. 


Waste:
The remote nature of the Lodge requires us to handle our own rubbish removal. To reduce landfill on the property we do not permit guests to bring any BYO beer bottles (stubbies) to the Lodge. – CANS ONLY. A limited selection of bottled beer is available at our Saloon bar.


Mobile phones:
There is no mobile service at Point Stuart Wilderness Lodge. Telstra ‘Next G’ has some coverage, although is not always reliable. A pay phone is available. There is also no internet access.


Fuel & supplies:
Diesel & unleaded fuels, gas, groceries & medical supplies are not available for purchase from the Lodge. Guests need to be fully equipped when visiting the area.
