An equatorial climate is moderated by Uganda's elevated altitude - averaging over
1000 metres above sea level.
Most of the country is warm (averaging 26C during the day and 16C at night), with December to February being the hottest months.
Highland areas can see the mercury plunging and there are glaciers on the peaks of the Ruwenzoris.
Uganda experiences varying rainfall patterns: the south sees a rainy season from April to May and again from October to November; the north's wettest months are from April to October.
Expect rain at any time in western Uganda and the Lake Victoria region. Humidity, given Uganda's elevation, is not as high as you would expect and generally low outside the rainy seasons.
